Kundalini Yoga for Vitality and Stress Reduction

Join Julie K. Staples, Ph.D. for this 8 week series designed to increase vitality and reduce stress.

Experience the physical postures, breathing exercises and meditation of Kundalini yoga to:

Cost: $12 per class or $80 for the 8 week series

Julie K. Staples, Ph.D. is a certified Kundalini yoga teacher and has been teaching Kundalini yoga since 1996. She is the Research Director at the Center for Mind-Body Medicine. She has conducted research on yoga and mind-body medicine in traumatized civilian and military populations worldwide for over 20 years. She is also the author of the book Reclaiming Life after Trauma based on an Integrative Trauma Recovery Program using Kundalini yoga and cognitive-behavioral therapy for healing PTSD.

Join Alana Grier for an eight week tribal fusion belly dance workshop.

January 5th through February 23rd

Saturdays 9:45am to 11:00am

BELLY DANCE FUNDAMENTALS COVERED:

  • Prayer/Pranam Centering Exercise
  • Technique & Drills
  • Choreography Cues & Group Patterns
  • Synchronized Group Improvisation
  • Learn to Lead and Follow
  • Finger Cymbal Patterns
  • Tribal Costume Making

Alana is a professionally trained dancer who began studying Matriarchal Belly Dance in 1986. Her Tribal Fusion Bellydance class is a supportive community for women of all ages and phases of life through dance. Learn a fusion of different approaches to Belly Dance from American Tribal Style to ancient birth preparation. There is a good flow from strengthening drills to group choreography throughout the class.

PIYO Pilates/Yoga Combo

Thursdays @ noon (45 min)

The PIYO or Pilates/Yoga Mix class includes a combo of Pilates exercise for toning and strengthening and yoga for flexibility and relaxation. Relieve the mind of daily stress. Build strength, flexibility, and stamina safely. Achieve a sense of reintegration. No previous experience is required.

The Peace of Mindfulness program is for anyone with aspirations to live a healthier and saner life in today’s world. By using the techniques practiced in this series of classes you can learn to reduce anxiety and feelings of panic, manage chronic pain and other conditions, and improve overall quality of life and relationships.
