Join Jayne Schell in exploring Jivamukti Yoga infused with SATYA Yoga – Sensory Awareness Training for Yoga Attunement as created by Tias Little of Prajna Yoga for Slow Healing Movement prelude to Yoga practices.

Yoga classes with Jayne include the five tenants of Jivamukti Yoga:  shastra (scripture,) bhakti (devotion,) ahimsa (kindness,) nada (music,) and dhyana (meditation) supported through chanting, breath awareness, flowing sequences, alignment exploration, hands-on assistance, spiritual teachings, relaxation and inner listening. 

Jayne has taught Jivamukti Yoga in many venues in Taos since 2005.  As a lifelong learner, Jayne continues her research and study of yoga deepening her understanding of living yoga.  SATYA Yoga has inspired continuous movement on the mat in a slow supported practice that is healing and hydrating.  Jivamukti Yoga is where the spiritual meets the physical and we remember who we are.  Ki Jai!

Kundalini Yoga for Vitality and Stress Reduction

Join Julie K. Staples, Ph.D. for an 8 week series designed to increase vitality and reduce stress from April 9th to May 28th.

Experience the physical postures, breathing exercises and meditation of Kundalini yoga to:

  • Reduce your stress
  • Increase your energy level while maintaining calmness
  • Bring balance to your thoughts and emotions

Cost: $12 per class or $80 for the 8 week series

Julie K. Staples, Ph.D. is a certified Kundalini yoga teacher and has been teaching Kundalini yoga since 1996. She is the Research Director at the Center for Mind-Body Medicine. She has conducted research on yoga and mind-body medicine in traumatized civilian and military populations worldwide for over 20 years. She is also the author of the book Reclaiming Life after Trauma based on an Integrative Trauma Recovery Program using Kundalini yoga and cognitive-behavioral therapy for healing PTSD.

Alana is a professionally trained dancer who began studying Matriarchal Belly Dance in 1986. Her Tribal Fusion Bellydance class is a supportive community for women of all ages and phases of life through dance. Learn a fusion of different approaches to Belly Dance from American Tribal Style to ancient birth preparation. There is a good flow from strengthening drills to group choreography throughout the class.

Join Alana in the Yoga Studio located in the lush landscapes and sacred grounds of El Monte Sagrado’s living waters. When the weather permits we can practice outside surrounded by waterfalls, ponds, and towering cottonwoods. This life-altering beautiful environment is ideal for practicing Yoga in Taos with stunning backdrop of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains.

The practice of Yoga quiets the mind and promotes inner peace. This class is open to beginners through advanced practitioners with a moderate pace, and modifications are provided to make the practice accessible to all levels. Emphasis is placed on mindfulness and breath control. This full body workout incorporates Yoga postures, breathing and meditation leaving you relaxed and at peace.
